Olga Kefalogianni, Minister of Tourism of Greece attended the third World Tourism Forum Lucerne (WTFL) in Switzerland during which she expressed her optimism for the forthcoming tourism year.
In the framework of the upward trend the world tourism market presents, Kefalogianni referred especially to the matter of the tourist visa, saying that this issue concerns a great number of visitors and that Greece is making every effort to improve the facilitation of visa publication regime as much as possible.
The Greek minister mentioned the initiatives and the actions that the Ministry of Tourism has taken up, such as the National Observatory of Tourism and the adjusted and targeted tactics of projection, through new technologies (internet-smart applications). She pointed out the products resistance despite the world financial crisis.
Kefalogianni gave interviews to journalists of Swiss, German and Austrian Press.
The World Tourism Forum attracted record participation of some 400 leaders of the global tourism industry. In plenary sessions, workshops, panel discussions, a world café and networking breaks, the participants discussed future challenges and strategies for their industry focusing on the topics global shift, green growth, talents and new marketing, as reported in WTFL’s official website.
